Team
Invite staff, pick what each person can do, and assign them to locations. You can give a shift manager exactly what they need without opening up billing or team management.
#The team list
The main view lists everyone with access to your business, with columns for name, email, and role. Each row has actions to edit a user, remove them, or reset their password.
#Inviting a user
The Invite user button opens a popup where you enter the person's email and pick a role. They get an invite email. Once they accept, they appear on the list.
#Roles and permissions
Aloo has three roles: Owner, Manager, and Staff. Each has a default set of permissions.
Who can edit whose permissions follows two simple rules:
- You can only change permissions for roles below your own. Owners can edit Managers and Staff. Managers can edit Staff. Staff can't edit anyone.
- You can only grant permissions you already have. A Manager without billing access can't hand billing access to someone else.
For the full permission matrix and every default, see Roles & permissions.
#Per-location assignments
For businesses with multiple locations, each staff member can have different roles at different branches. A host at one location might be a shift manager at another. Aloo stores these assignments per location so the dashboard each person sees matches the access they have.
#WhatsApp integration
Next to each team member is a WhatsApp eligible checkbox. When ticked, that person receives two kinds of WhatsApp messages from Aloo:
- Staff Assist questions. When the AI gets stuck on a call, it sends the caller's question to eligible staff on WhatsApp. Reply with the answer and Aloo uses it to continue the call.
- New order notifications. A WhatsApp message every time a new order comes in.
How shift start and stop works
Eligible staff only receive notifications while they’re on shift. Aloo sends each person a WhatsApp message during the day. Reply with one of two commands:
While you’re started, Staff Assist questions and new order notifications come through. After you send STOP, nothing more is sent until you send START again the next day.
